Weekly Update, Week Ending July 5, 2019

Posillico Environmental, Inc (Posillico), National Grid’s Remediation Contractor, completed the (ISS) pilot scale test on Wednesday July 5th. The steel sheeting to protect the bank of the Patchogue River was installed. Soil erosion and sediment control measures were inspected and maintained, as required. Five Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) stations were operated during remedy implementation to monitor for the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and particulates at the Site’s property line.

Two-Week Outlook

Posillico will begin excavating to install the two-foot cover over the southern portion of the Site (outside of the ISS area). Posillico will commence soil excavation within the 4-foot targeted excavation areas. Excavated soils will be transported off-Site for disposal at a permitted facility. The excavation areas will be backfilled with certified clean stone.

General hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
