Weekly Update, Week Ending July 12, 2019

Posillico Environmental, Inc (Posillico), National Grid’s Remediation Contractor began soil excavation for the 2-foot Site cover and also started the construction of the wet meadow area with the gabion stone weir. Excavated soil was stockpiled and covered with plastic sheeting, awaiting transportation to a permitted disposal facility. Soil erosion and sediment control measures were inspected and maintained. Five Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) stations were operated during remedy implementation to monitor for the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and particulates at the Site’s property line.

Two-Week Outlook

Posillico will commence loading excavated soils for transportation and disposal to an approved permitted disposal facility. Posillico will continue construction of the wet meadow area with gabion stone weir. The excavation area will be backfilled with certified clean stone.

General hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
