Weekly Update, Week Ending July 19, 2019

Posillico Environmental, Inc (Posillico), National Grid’s Remediation Contractor loaded excavated soils for transportation and disposal off-site at an approved permitted facility. The geotextile demarcation layer was installed on the excavation bottom and the excavated area was backfilled with imported certified clean stone. Posillico continued construction of the wet meadow are with gabion stone weir. Soil erosion and sediment control measures were inspected and maintained. Five Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) stations were operated 24 hours a day to monitor for the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and particulates at the Site’s property line.

Two-Week Outlook

Posillico will continue construction of the wet meadow and backfill activities. Wastewater generated from decontamination activities will be transported off-site for disposal at permitted water treatment facility. Posillico will continue loading excavated soils for transportation and disposal off-site at approved disposal facility. There will be limited construction activities during the second week while the results of the ISS pilot-scale are being evaluated, before the full-scale ISS activities can begin.

General hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
