Weekly Update, Week Ending July 26, 2019

Posillico Environmental, Inc (Posillico), National Grid’s Remediation Contractor performed limited activities this week. Borings were drilled through the ISS pilot study areas to examine the ISS mixed soils. Soil erosion and sediment control measures were inspected and maintained. Five Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) stations were operated 24 hours a day to monitor for the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and particulates at the Site’s property line.

Two-Week Outlook

Posillico complete the 4-foot excavation area near existing utility poles. Posillico will also relocate an existing buried electric line. These tasks will be coordinated with the appropriate utility companies. The area will then be backfilled with the clean backfill. There will be limited construction activities during the second week while the results of the ISS pilot-scale are being evaluated, before the full-scale ISS activities can begin.

General hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
